“Art is not a photo of life but a feeling about life”
Linda Israel is a free-spirited artist with a wild sense of color. Capturing the essence of life through the colorful innocence of animals is what brings her joy. Using a pallet of vibrant colors, Linda approaches her portraits like the subjects themselves —playfully uninhibited.  Painting on a large canvas her subjects come to life through her use of color, light and glazing of acrylic. Linda studied painting at CU-Boulder before moving to New York to study interior design and is a former editor of House Beautiful Magazine.  Four years ago she turned her focus more completely to painting.

Leah Bradley’s paintings address the intensity and abundance of every day life through the potency of every day objects. The energy and vibrance of the lush color, and of the paint itself, resonate with the quiet simplicity at the core of each painting. The items become more than depictions of functional objects, pleasing to look at or good to eat. They speak of order, energy, moments of peace, and joy. Leah received an MFA in painting at Colorado State University in 1990 and has exhibited widely in Colorado, as well as Santa Fe, Taos, Seattle, Richmond, and Philadelphia. www.leahbradley.com

JUNE

Jim Freeheart began his artistic career in 1974, during an adventure to the Canary Islands, under the guidance of renowned Spanish artist Juan Pares. Spending time on Cape Cod, Hawaii, Europe, California and in Boulder, Colorado, "plein-air" paintings became his passion and provided Jim with a rich variety of subjects and palettes. He lived in Boulder from 1993- 2006 painting extensively in the area. Jim made his first painting trip to Europe last fall and has gathered this collection for a unique show in Colorado. Pieces from: Provence , Paris, Giverney, Brittany, Alsace, Cassis, Italy, Monaco and Australia will be included. The energy, light and vibrance of Jim Freeheart’s work transports viewers instantly to the most inviting destinations. “It is my honor to share these Plein Air paintings with you. Hope to see you at the show or by appointment during the June showing. I am here from Hawaii for this special event!” Aloha, Jim Freeheart

Lorrie Caplan
is a renowned watercolor and acrylic Abstract Artist whose distinctive style and quality of work have earned her exhibits and art shows throughout the United States. Lorrie is inspired by the spice of life and love. Her passion dances in living color on the paper. Lorrie’s abstract paintings convey a whimsical, fun-loving view of nature and inspire a zest for life. Her work is unique and delightful, an experience of the senses that anyone would revel in!
Show continues through June 30, 2010.

MAY

Mike Price’s encaustic art involves the creation of reality-based images—real places and things that have been skewed and then reconstructed to suggest a place at once familiar but now void of many of the landmarks that make a place or thing truly representational. "I truly enjoy the freedom of expression required of quick decisions with hot medium. I can create a greater tactile feel in my compositions with many layers of color, patterns, carving, textures and varying opacities, each of which adds it's own nuance to a piece."

Taunya Bruns is all about variety and fun. When she puts acrylic to surface her goal is to bring a smile to the faces of her viewers. Spontaneous, adventurous and willing to try anything, Taunya does her best to express a love of life, which is evident in her spirited creations. Her most recent works have been focused on her whimsical 3-D wrap around canvas diptychs that reveal something unexpected!

Jackie FRIESTH’s watercolors are delightful examples of the whimsical and unpredictable nature of the medium. “The way the paint ends up on the paper still holds a mystery for me. It’s a little like life, you just can’t control everything, no matter how hard you try!”
