Creative Framing owner expands store, launches arts district in Louisville

Creative Framing owner Janet Russell said when she envisions something, she makes it happen. That not only goes for her framing store and gallery but also for the community and her desire to create a Louisville arts district.

And if her visions become reality, art-lovers are in for a treat.

Russell recently doubled the size of her business -- which she relocated to 916 Main St. five years ago after she opened in Village Square Shopping Center off of South Boulder Road 12 years before that.

Russell's former production area, complete with work tables, tools and framing material, sat toward the back of the shop just past the gallery. Now the gallery takes up the entire original Creative Framing Space. Beyond that is another room which Russell has turned into the store's framing area.
